Late Summer Light

Today I took the camera for a walk in an attempt to capture the late summer light at the end of the day. I still feel there are many things to learn about my camera, so it was another ‘practise’ session more than anything.

The light at this time of year is particularly appealing, especially in the time just before sunset. Instead of capturing big wide sunset shots, I seemed to focus in on close-up shots of simple wild flowers and textures. I love the bugs that appear to be stocking up their supplies for the night ahead, and I love the effect the sun has on subjects when it is low in the sky and directly behind them.

The warmth of this light at this time of day is always so appealing, and my quest to capture it succesfully will no doubt continue indefinately!
